Allergy Screen
Order Instructions:
Blood is drawn for an antibody test (RAST) where the pet's allergic fingerprint is determined. 30 or more local allergens (antigens) commonly found to be a problem in pets are scored. Food allergens are also scored. The goal of this test is to formulate a vaccine specifically designed for the patient and given for several months in order to "desensitize" the pet to the offending allergens. The food score is used to determine which protein and grain types should be excluded from the diet. A novel diet is recommended from these findings.
